Subject: Re: GOP’s Omnibus Bill Should Have Gone off a Cliff
there is something else going on here — something that people like us cannot see. Ryan and McConnel, et al, are not this stupid. they were not rolled by Schumer. they agreed with these increases. and many of the increases are Obama era programs. sr republican leaders clearly agreed with these priorities. the question is why? what were they thinking?
In the entire debate, Schumer was the only person to use the word “austerity.” He said “the age of austerity is over.” What age of austerity? Where did that observation come from?
I think it came from inside the discussions with republicans. Austerity (what we call fiscal responsibility) came from Tea Party pressure. Boehner blocked that with sequestration. All the talk about what Obama did to the military is wrong. Sequestration – caps on mil spending – was a Boehner / Republican idea. It is the way he shut the Tea Party down. “You want cuts? I’ll give you cuts . . . to the military.” That’s what is over — Boehner’s deal to cut social spending and military spending in parallel. Now we are not going to cut anything.
I think the rep elite is convinced that so many Americans now depend on social spending that any effort to cut it (austerity) will be an election disaster. So they have just pitched in the towel. “Spend all you want dems, as long as we get some of what we want out of it as well.”
The rep party is out of ideas.

Ryan and McConnell (both are RINOs) should be fired but the majority of their caucus DON’T HAVE THE GUTS TO DO THAT. “Our politicians aren’t so much ambitious for power as they are afraid of accountability.”
Ask your Representative and Senators if they voted for this OMNIBUS BILL and if so WHY???? Ours speaks “who me said that – I did that?”
